2/17/09 - 8 miles

Tonight I ran at the gym since my 8 miles included some speed work - 5x600 meter sprints at 5k race pace with 90 seconds between each sprint. I ran the first 3 miles starting my pace at 8:34 and gradually increasing until I was at an 8:00 pace. I then began the 5x600 sprints which I ran at a 6:40 pace. I felt good during the sprints and really throughout the entire run. I didn't do any speedwork last marathon so I hope the work I'm putting in this time around will help come race day.
