1/05/09 - 8 miles

Tonight I had a really good workout. My eight mile run included 8 short interval runs of 100 meters. My plan called for 10 intervals but since this was the first time I have added these intervals to my run, I scaled it back to 8. My legs felt a little heavy during miles 3-5 but I was able to push through and finish strong. I have felt lately that my longer runs need to be more of a workout rather than just finishing and I need to use the shorter runs for recovery. After finishing my run, I felt like I had pushed myself. I want to feel this way on all my medium and long runs. I ran the 8 miles in 1:03:27 which is a 7:56 pace.
