I ran my miles outside tonight and really felt great. The weather was great - around 60 degrees and clear skies. I again focused my run around my heartrate and was pretty successful. I kept my pace such so that my heartrate would stay in the 150's. My splits tonight were as follows:
Mile 1 - 8:13 / 150 bpm
Mile 2 - 8:21 / 153 bpm
Mile 3 - 8:19 / 154 bpm
Mile 4 - 8:07 / 158 bpm
Total for the 4 miles is 33:00 which is an 8:15 pace and my average heartrate was 153 bpm. I had no problems and the pace felt very comfortable. My goal pace for the marathon is 8:00 so I'm right on track to be there come April. I'm looking forward to my long run tomorrow and I hope I can duplicate these results over a longer run.
